Jerry Goldsmith's iconic score to the 1979 film has been restored, remixed, and mastered from the first-generation multi-track masters by Bruce Botnick (the original album's Executive Producer and Goldsmith's long-time engineer). Mike Matessino co-produced the album with Botnick, handling the restoration, editing, and track assembly.

With over 80 minutes of music, the 45th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture – The Director’s Edition is pressed on 2xLP 140g colored vinyl and housed in a Rainbow Foil Laminated Gatefold Jacket with black poly-lined inner sleeves, with a double-sided full-color insert nestled inside. The pressing is limited to 1,000 copies across five beautiful themed color variants.

Please keep in mind that Priority Mail orders WILL SHIP FIRST, so if this is needed as soon as possible for a gift, please choose Priority Mail. This release, upon request, can be shipped outside of the jacket to avoid seam splits. This album comes mailed inside of the jacket sealed with shrink wrap on the outside. We do not have any extra jackets for this release in case of minor damage by the USPS in transit. To clarify, It will come packaged in a full-color jacket (as pictured) sealed with plastic wrap UNLESS requested in the comment section of your order to "open the album & place outside of jacket before shipping." This is a good way to prevent potential seam splits along the top of the jacket due to careless handling by the post office, and this service is free of charge. If you forget to write in the comments of your order about shipping outside of the jacket, PLEASE EMAIL US WITH YOUR ORDER NUMBER and ask us to update the notes on your order to ship outside of the jacket. Release days are hectic, especially the first few hours, so please give ample time for a response. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
